Perfect Leopard Sunset

I followed this Leopard as she was walking through the bush. I could see she was hunting and looking for something to eat. With a near perfect sunset I was very lucky when she decided to jump up onto a termite mound with this sunset in the background. To fit the entire scene in I had to stitch a few images together. Photographed in the Sabi Sands South Africa

The Matriarch

A small group of Elephant were walking across an open area in the Masai Mara. I positioned my vehicle a few hundred meters ahead of them and waited for them to come walking past. The female matriarch walked straight up to my vehicle to inspect and make sure all was in place. Allowing for an awesome opportunity to photograph her portrait against a setting sun.

Let's put our heads togeather

Lion (Panthera leo) photographed in Ndutu Tanzania. Being the only true sociable member of the cat family, lions have very close bonds with their fellow pride members. Watching them interact with each other can often be a treat such as this day when one by one a few of the pride members walked up to a small water puddle to quench their thirst. Their bond was so tight that they ended up with their heads right next to each other while lapping up the water.

It was cold and raining with a strong wind blowing when this huge male lion (Panthera leo) stood up. He turned and faced the wind and stood there smelling the air for several minutes. No doubt he could smell his next move. Masai Mara, Kenya.

Beach Kings

I found this small group of King Penguins heading out to sea in the early hours at day break. I lay in the freezing water with them capturing this scene of the Penguins heading out to sea all set with the most spectacular sunrise.

Three Kings

Three King Penguins (Aptenodytes patagonicus) set on a pristine Sunrise beach in the Falkland Islands. I found these three King Penguins huddled close to each other. It became obvious that they were caught up in a mating behaviour as they were constantly moving around each other and using their flippers to fend the other off. It was fascinating to capture their beautiful behaviour in such an incredible setting. One of my personal photographic career highlights.
